In terms of calorie burn, does it matter if you work out in the morning or evening?

I’ve seen this article in WebMD, pushing morning exercise. http://www.webmd.com/fitness-exercise/guide/lose-weight-with-morning-exercise

I find if i work out in the evening, I can’t sleep as well. I feel better all day if I work out in the morning. But I’m wondering whether one or the other is better for burning calories.

Thanks.

  1. Bobydob says:

i would imagine youd burn the same calories off whatever time of day you exercised, same as you would eat the same amount of calories from a particular food no matter what time of day you ate…however, as you have found out, working out does increase your adrenalin levels, so your brain will not feel like sleeping, even if your body is tired from the exercise, so it would be wiser to work out a good few hours at least before your bed time.
it also would depend on what your energy levels are like, if youve got more energy in the morning, your gonna burn more calories then, and the same goes if youve got more energy in the evening
