If you have a Damaged Organ, do you burn more calorie?

I’ve been sick with too much acid in my stomach for two months so my doctor told me I have torned vessels and damaged esophagus and stomach(it’s not bad bad).
because of that, I had to stop exercizing!!! but my cousin told me my body would burn more calorie to recover that damaged vessels and stuff.( I threw up blood vessels)

do you think my body’s burning my calories?

    My friend and I used the same oval. He made 10 rounds by running and finished early. I’ve done 10 rounds by brisk walking and finished later. Now my friend says he burnt more calorie because he did it by running. I argue that we spent the same amount of calorie because we covered the same distance, who is right?
